New ski helmet brand MONTE SKI

Bloemendaal, the Netherlands, 21 January 2010 – Today a new Dutch ski helmet brand, MONTE SKI is launched. The company is founded by two female entrepreneurs and offers stylish and comfortable ski helmets. This winter holiday MONTE SKI offers more choice for skiers and snowboarders. The company responds to a growing demand for ski helmets and the importance of safety during a skiing holiday.

Nina Breuning, founder of MONTE SKI says: "Wearing a ski helmet is not only safe and comfortable, it is also a good addition to your skiing outfit. In the current offering of ski helmets we noticed many sportive ski helmets with bright colours. In the design of the ski helmets of MONTE SKI we therefore emphasized on style, a smooth shape, comfortable materials and easy to combine colours. The pearl-white helmet is feminine with a light beige lace print and the black ski helmet is cool with a wide silver-grey- and two small white stripes from front to back.”

Annually many people go on a skiing holiday. In some countries, like Austria, Italy, Spain, the US, and Canada ski helmets are already required for kids. But for adults it is also advisable to wear a ski helmet while skiing or snowboarding. Through improved techniques and materials, higher speeds are achieved on the slopes. Partly because of these high speeds, accidents are often accompanied by severe head injury.

Nienke Huisinga, founder of MONTE SKI adds: "Often ski helmets are rented. Many people however do not know that a ski helmet needs to be replaced when it has endured a hard blow. The ski helmet is no longer safe, even if the damage can not be seen from the outside. When you rent a ski helmet, you are not aware of the current state of the helmet so you don’t know if it can still offer sufficient protection.”

The ski helmets of MONTE SKI are for sale now on: www.monteski.com. They have a leather look on the ears and have soft, fluffy material. The lining on the inside can be removed and washed. The chin strap has the same soft fabric and assures a comfortable fit. The ski helmets are equipped with a ‘dial-fit’system. With a turning wheel on the back, the ski helmets can be adjusted a few centimetres smaller. The ski helmets are available in S, M and L and suitable for adults and kids with a head size between 53 and 61 centimetres. Using a size chart and clear instructions on the website, people can easily choose their size. The ski helmets have 6 venting holes which perfectly fit within the very smooth shape of the helmet. Because of in-mould technology, the ski helmets are very light weight and have optimal wearing comfort. All MONTE SKI helmets are tested according to the CE-mark EN1077.
