Safety and Ski Helmet
Each year, millions of people go on skiing holidays. Only some of them wear a helmet while skiing or snowboarding. Yet there is an emerging trend of more and more people opting to wear a ski helmet. Often, a comparison is made to wearing a helmet while driving a scooter. Scooter helmets are compulsory everywhere, but most people actually go faster while skiing because of improved techniques and materials. Also, more and more people have taken up skiing and snowboarding, so the slopes are more congested.

Not surprisingly, most accidents happen when people collide. Because of the high speeds, accidents often involve serious injuries. In over 14%* of accidents that involve children, head injury occurs. Accidents involving adults have a 10%* risk for head injuries. Although fractures are a more common ski injury, wearing a ski helmet is highly recommended and reduces the risk of head injury by 85%*.
